It has been almost two years since our lives forever changed. You would think we’ve gotten used to it by now, but the truth is, the Pandemic and every challenge it brings with it, has kept us on our toes. That’s why as an organization, Awesense believes in taking time for rest and recuperation (R&R).
Our people have a wide range of activities when it comes to R&R. Some like to build their own essentials, some prefer to take part in some outdoor adventures, and some just like to take a day at the beach!
Remote Work
Even before the Pandemic, Awesense was working on a hybrid model. Now with the challenges brought by the Pandemic, we are a remote-first company. Everyone has the flexibility to come to our office in Vancouver or work remotely. This is especially true for anyone feeling unwell. Our company culture is clear- stay at home if you don’t feel well, and work on keeping everyone on the team, safe.
Curious about some other part of your country? Somewhere across the world? No problem! Awesense offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the world! Meaning you get to choose where you work, and where you play.
Worried about technological issues? Don’t be! Everyone at Awesense is given the latest technology to help them achieve their goals. Do your best work, and put some Netflix on in the background to help get some R&R, we won’t tell 😉!
Mental Health
We are human and so are you. We value enthusiasm, openness, integrity, and kindness, and we hope that you will too. We don’t think you are your best self when your mental health is not up to speed. We don’t put a limit on sick or mental health days. Take a day off if you need it, no questions asked! We believe in supporting one another, both in our working, and our personal lives.
Unlimited Vacation
Every boss’s worst nightmare! But not here at Awesense! Need a day to see your family? Or maybe just a day to recover from your busy life. No problem! Our unlimited vacation policy has only one rule- don’t let the team down. As long as everyone is on top of their deliverables, we never stop anyone from taking some well-deserved time to themselves!
PTO in December
If our unlimited vacation policy isn’t working for you, we’ve still got you covered. Every December, our Management team allocates some paid time off for everyone at Awesense. We believe some R&R, especially around the busy holiday season, is the best way for our team to start the new year fresh!

Here’s to you, 2022!
As we move into what we can only hope to be the sunset of the Pandemic, we encourage you to reflect on your past year and take some time to rest and recuperate. As we take some time to rest, we know we’ll hit the ground running in 2022 and continue the incredible journey we are on. Decarbonizing humanity’s largest machine is not an easy task, but with the support of Awesense enabling everyone to do their best work, we’re confident that we will be successful.
Our offices will be closed from December 18th to January 4th. We hope you take some time to enjoy the holidays, and we look forward to seeing you in 2022!
