Awesense Inc., a leading grid data analytics company announced today version 2.6 of its True Grid Intelligence (TGI) solution for electrical distribution utilities. TGI is a cloud-based SaaS solution that helps utilities detect, quantify and mitigate avoidable losses, recover millions of dollars in revenue, and better optimize grid operations.
TGI 2.6 introduces a number of new capabilities designed to increase the effectiveness of revenue assurance efforts from the crews in the field to the business managers in the boardroom.
Enhancements to Risk Modeling
An improved interface has been added to help data scientists and analyst collect data sources, select and weight risk factors that contribute to the likelihood of avoidable losses, and construct a risk model to predict areas of the grid at high risk of losses. TGI also provide tools to analyze the effectiveness of risk models based on real-world data collected from the field during the course of investigations. This feedback loop distinguishes TGI from other analytics software that lack in-grid data.
Improved Field Investigation Tools
Field investigators can improve their efficiency and reduce costs thanks to a new feature that traces connections between grid elements. Crews can now visualize and better understand these connections in a mesh grid environment where there might be multiple feeders in one circuit or loops. Field crews can also apply corrections to switch states on their TGI map based on what they see in the field.
New Program Dashboard
An enhanced dashboard provides an at-a-glance view of the status of all the cases and investigations planned, in-progress and completed. Key KPIs like investigations by type, percentage of grid investigated, success rates of investigations, technical vs non-technical losses, and many other indicators are organized into an intuitive dashboard to track progress.
“TGI 2.6 has very much been driven by requests from customers,” says Mischa Steiner, CEO of Awesense. “We’ve been listening to both field crews and business owners and our goal is to make them as successful as possible. Every kWh we help our customers save puts money in their bank accounts and reduces their carbon footprint.”
Awesense helps electric utilities optimize their distribution grids by reducing avoidable losses due to theft, errors and inefficiency – a $100B/year problem globally. Our cloud-based analytics software and mobile IoT devices deliver the fastest, most cost-effective way to protect and recover revenue. Our customers have reduced losses by 50% in under 3 years.
